Stadtkuratorin Leipzig – Art in public spaces in the city of Leipzig
The programme Stadtkuratorin Leipzig understands art in public space as a platform for communication and exchange, where the city's population, different stakeholders, communities, scenes and the city administration can meet and enter into dialogue. In this sense, we focus on the development of artistic and participatory formats that encourage joint creation, research and debate. Another priority for us is to link historical objects and themes with current issues in public space.

The Stadtkuratorin Leipzig program is developed by curator, author and art educator Julia Kurz and her team on behalf of the City of Leipzig's Department of Culture. The development of this programme was adopted by the City Council in 2019 on the basis of the Leipzig // Stadt // Raum // Kunst strategy.
